You learn as if you were talking to a German speaking friend, colleague or neighbour – which is much more fun and prepares you much better for real-life situations than trying to learn isolated pieces of vocabulary.
Instead of learning isolated vocabulary items, you will immediately learn how to use the vocabulary in context.
In my opinion, most language learners make at least one of the two following major errors:
1) They try to memorize isolated items of vocabulary, without being able to use them in context.
2) They don’t use any repetition system, so that they quite soon forget what they have “learned”.
However, when it comes to language learning, nor forgetting things nor not being able to use them is what we want.
This is why I have developed an approach that combines the advantages of a dialogue-oriented approach (practicing in context, as if you were talking to a German speaker) with those of a spaced-repetition system (practicing regularly, with repetition intervals depending on your learning curve).
As a result, you will practice regularly – but not doing rote memorization of isolated items of vocabulary. Rather than that, your regular practice will consist in answering questions and building sentences by yourself in German, as if you were talking to a German speaking friend, colleague or customer – until you feel really fluent and comfortable with it.
This will allow you to really use in context the vocabulary and grammar you learn and to boost your fluency.

What level is the starter package for? Can I work with it even if I'm not a beginner anymore?
The starter program has been designed with beginners in mind. Therefore, it starts with the easiest questions and slowly progresses towards somewhat more difficult questions.
Of course, you can also practice with the program as an intermediate learner if you want to revise some basics and practice answering questions more fluently. If you want, you can also skip or delete the easiest questions in your app to practice only with the questions that you don’t find too easy. Alternatively, if you find a question too easy, you can also try to add some additional pieces of information to your answer to make answering the question more interesting and enhance your speaking practice.
How will I get the files for my flashcards?
All the files that are part of the starter package can be downloaded immediately after your payment via ko-fi.com.
Why do the flashcards run on Anki?
Anki is a very powerful open-source spaced-repetition application. Depending on your learning curve, the algorithm will decide what question it will ask you which day.
Is Anki for free?
Anki offers a web-application and an Android app (called Ankidroid) which are both free of charge. Using the iPhone or iPad app requires a one-time payment.
How can I download Anki and get started with the flashcards?
With your starter package, you will get a manual of instructions (PDF) on how to download and configure Anki and how to get started with the flashcards.
What elements does the starter package contain?
The starter package contains the following files:
